Spirit-Led Lent invites us to slow down and pay attention to a striking detail in the Gospels: Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. His forty days of fasting and testing were not a detour or a punishment, but a Spirit-directed season that shaped His identity, obedience, and mission. As we walk through Luke 4 and Matthew 4, we’ll see how Jesus succeeds where Israel failed—faithful in the wilderness, obedient as the true Servant of the Lord, and ready to step into His calling for the sake of the world.
This Lent, our hope is not that we would simply “get through” the season, but that we would be led by the Spirit into greater life in Christ. The wilderness teaches us that transformation often comes through subtraction, not addition—letting go of what distracts so that God can deepen our identity, authority, and trust in Him. As we follow Jesus’ example, we’ll explore what it means to embrace sacrifice, face temptation, and live with renewed purpose, trusting that the same Spirit who led Jesus is at work among us.
