Ministry Lead Team
Lead Pastor, Priest
Hi, my name is Billy Waters and I am the Lead Pastor of Wellspring Church. I am married to an incredible woman of God, Janna. We have six kids: Ben, Analise, Lizzie, Sylve, Grace, and Hope! I received my B.S. in Biology from Colorado State University and Masters of Divinity from Denver Seminary. My hobbies of choice are fly fishing, reading, and restoring old homes. My two greatest passions in ministry are evangelism and prayer. There is nothing more sacred for me than communing with Jesus and seeing lives transformed.
Connecting Pastor, Deacon
It is my honor to serve Wellspring Church as our Connecting Pastor. I have lived in Colorado since I was two (so I can't quite claim a Colorado Native title) and I love our beautiful state! I got my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder (where I also met Jesus) and my Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary. I married my high school sweetheart Jeff (you can read more about him below) in 2009 and we welcomed our first child, Micah, in September 2018. We could not be more smitten with our little boy! I love to travel to new places, invite people into our home just a few minutes down the road from the church, take long walks on the trail behind our house, and read fantasy novels. It is my joy to connect with anyone and everyone at Wellspring Church and to help people get involved in this great church family.
Worship Pastor, Deacon
Although I wasn’t born there I guess I would consider myself to be a Florida native. (Floridians are not nearly as protective of “native status” as Coloradans are.) After finishing high school I moved to Nashville to study Religion and the Arts at Belmont University, where my love for Theology was first recognized and cultivated. After graduating in 2011 I moved back to Florida and married my high school sweetheart, Taylor. Eight months later we sensed God calling us to move to Denver so that I could pursue an MDiv degree at Denver Seminary, which I completed in May of 2015. We are blessed to have two sweet, incredibly good-looking children—Norah and Cohen. Aside from our salvation in Christ they are our greatest source of joy.
We couldn’t be more grateful and blessed to be a part of such a gospel-centered, Kingdom-focused, and Spirit-filled church.
Emerging Generations Pastor
I am one of two Canadians on staff here at Wellspring. As a pastor’s kid, I have lived all over North America before making my most recent stop in Colorado. I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Science from THE California State University San Bernardino and have been working in youth ministry since the day I graduated from High School. I love sports, especially hockey and college football and live in hopes that my beloved Calgary Flames will someday once again win the Stanley Cup and that my Michigan Wolverines will be hailed as the Victors of College Football. My wife Marla and I live in Englewood with our daughter, Lucy.
Children and Family Director
I grew up in Pennsylvania and got to Colorado as fast as I could in 1991. I have a Masters in Counseling from the University of Colorado. I met the love of my life, Eric, in 1993 and we never left! We are part of the original small group of families who started Wellspring over 15 years ago. We have four children, Jamie, Matthew, Zach and Nicole. Three of our children are adopted. I have a heart for all of God’s children! I am fascinated by the wonder children have as they learn and explore their faith in Jesus! I am committed to coming along side families on any part of their journey with Christ and parenting. In my free time I enjoy hiking and boating! I love keeping up with our families at Wellspring.
I was born in Racine, Wisconsin, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. My four siblings and I did our best to keep our parents busy - and succeeded! After high school, I went to college at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where I studied Sociology. It was during this time that I began to consider vocational ministry as a career path. The experience of simultaneously growing in my faith and studying Sociology gave me a deep interest in the relationship between Christianity and the social world. I became fascinated by how the Gospel informed and remedied the issues in society. This interest led me to the Justice and Mission program at Denver Seminary, which is how I ended up in Colorado. I am still a student at DenSem, working on a Master of Divinity with a Justice and Mission concentration. When I’m not working and studying, I enjoy exploring Denver’s city life and trying to soak up as much of Colorado’s wilderness as I can.
I was born in the Mojave Desert in the hills of Southern California. When I was 3 my family moved us to San Diego, which was by far the right decision. It was there that I fell in love with flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts, and fish tacos. I have spent the last 19 years in the beautiful state of Colorado, and the last 10 married to the love of my life, Katie (see "Care and Connecting Pastor" above). Recently we welcomed our first born son Micah James Gayle into our family, and he is the cutest baby on planet earth. It is the joy of my life to serve Wellspring as our Communications Director. My role extends to supporting our staff in all of their IT needs, as well as supporting our worship ministry with all of the technology in our Sanctuary. And beyond all of that, my favorite role that I get to play at our church is that of a drummer on our worship team. If you look closely, you will see me rocking the kit most weekends. Come say hello!
Church Administrator, Women’s Ministry Lead
I am the other Canadian on staff. Even though I’ve lived most of my life in the western United States, I’m still rather Canadian at heart! I like vinegar on my french fries, say “sorry” when someone else bumps into me, love the breakfast cereal Shreddies, and think there are only three downs in football! I’m married to David and have two awesome adult kids, Mikaela and Luc. I’ve lived in Canada, Arizona, California, Washington State, and now Colorado. My background is in education, as I’ve taught 3rd, 5th, 7th/8th grade, and adult ESL - but have worked in ministry in different capacities for 30 years. I love the diversity of the places I’ve lived, the people I’ve met and the things I’ve done! I’ve had the privilege of being a teacher, a tutor, a mentor, a friend to refugees, a photographer, and now the administrator here at Wellspring - a church community I absolutely love! I would love to hear from you!
The Rt. Rv. Ken Ross, Bishop
Wellspring Englewood serves under the care and guidance of Bishop Ken Ross who presides over the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains. He resides in Colorado Springs, where he serves at International Anglican Church. He and his wife Sallie enjoy playing with their grandchildren and have a deep connection with the church of Rwanda.
