Wellspring Englewood Staff
Lead Pastor, Priest
Hi, my name is Billy Waters and I am the Lead Pastor of Wellspring Church. I am married to an incredible woman of God, Janna. We have six kids: Ben, Analise, Lizzie, Sylve, Grace, and Hope! I received my B.S. in Biology from Colorado State University and Masters of Divinity from Denver Seminary. My hobbies of choice are fly fishing, reading, and restoring old homes. My two greatest passions in ministry are evangelism and prayer. There is nothing more sacred for me than communing with Jesus and seeing lives transformed.
Hi, I’m Eugene Scott the Executive Pastor of Wellspring Church. I have the honor of being married to my best friend, Dee Dee. She and I have known each other since we were kids and love serving and enjoying God together in our native Colorado. We have three adult children and four grandchildren. I earned my BA in Psychology from CU Denver, my Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary, and my Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Seminary. Over thirty-some years of ministry, I’ve served in six churches of various sizes and types. Of all the ways people have described me: friend, father, writer, pastor, troublemaker, creative, passionate, hunter, forgetful, conversationalist, archer, outdoorsman, adventurer the description that fits best is relational theologian.
Let’s love God together.
Connecting Pastor, Deacon
My name is Katie Gayle, and it is my honor to serve Wellspring Englewood as our Care and Connecting Pastor. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and I received my Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary. I love my husband Jeff (you can read more about him below), I love to travel to new and fun places, and I love our home in Centennial just a few minutes down the road from Wellspring. In my free time I find myself reading science fiction novels, taking long walks through our neighborhood, and eating dairy free dark chocolate. During the work day it is my joy to connect with anyone and everyone at Wellspring Church, and specifically to get them involved in this great place.
Although I wasn’t born there I guess I would consider myself to be a Florida native. (Floridians are not nearly as protective of “native status” as Coloradans are.) After finishing high school I moved to Nashville to study Religion and the Arts at Belmont University, where my love for Theology was first recognized and cultivated. After graduating in 2011 I moved back to Florida and married my high school sweetheart, Taylor. Eight months later we sensed God calling us to move to Denver so that I could pursue an MDiv degree at Denver Seminary, which I completed in May of 2015. Then, in January of 2016 we welcomed our daughter, Norah Laine, into the world. Aside from our salvation in Christ she is our greatest source of joy.
We couldn’t be more grateful and blessed to be a part of such a gospel-centered, Kingdom-focused church, and Spirit-filled church.
Youth and Family Pastor
I am one of two Canadians on staff here at Wellspring. As a pastor’s kid, I have lived all over North America before making my most recent stop in Colorado. I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Science from THE California State University San Bernardino and have been working in youth ministry since the day I graduated from High School. I love sports, especially hockey and college football and live in hopes that my beloved Calgary Flames will someday once again win the Stanley Cup and that my Michigan Wolverines will be hailed as the Victors of College Football. My wife Marla and I live in Englewood with our daughter, Lucy.
Children and Family Director
I grew up in Pennsylvania and got to Colorado as fast as I could in 1991. I have a Masters in Counseling from the University of Colorado. I met the love of my life, Eric, in 1993 and we never left! We are part of the original small group of families who started Wellspring over 15 years ago. We have four children, Jamie, Matthew, Zach and Nicole. Three of our children are adopted. I have a heart for all of God’s children! I am fascinated by the wonder children have as they learn and explore their faith in Jesus! I am committed to coming along side families on any part of their journey with Christ and parenting. In my free time I enjoy hiking and boating! I love keeping up with our families at Wellspring.
I was born in the Mojave Desert in the hills of California. When I was 3 my family moved us to San Diego, which was by far the right decision. It was there that I fell in love with flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts, and fish tacos. I have spent the last 15 years in the beautiful state of Colorado, and the last 7 married to the love of my life, Katie (see "Care and Connecting Pastor" above). In my “real job” I am the Executive Director of Heaven is for Real Ministries where I spend most of my time stewarding the miraculous story and traveling all over the world sharing the hope of Heaven with anyone who will listen. In the extra time that I have, I currently serve at Wellspring as the Director of Communications. Most weekends you will see me sitting on stage at the drum kit or back in the booth at the audio console. Come say hello!
My name is Tara Malouf and I am so excited to serve Wellspring as the new Office Administrator! Even though I've lived most of my life in the western United States, I find I'm still rather Canadian at heart! I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Elementary Education, but I feel like I also got an M.Div from Phoenix Seminary as my husband, David, constantly came home and retold everything he was learning. We have raised our two kids, Mikaela and Luc, in Arizona, Washington, and since 2015, Colorado. I've had the honor of being a teacher, a tutor, a mentor to women and a photographer. And now, I get to be the Administrator here at Wellspring - a church community we absolutely love! I would love to hear from you!
Compassions Ministry Coordinator
I was born in Racine, Wisconsin, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. My four siblings and I did our best to keep our parents busy - and succeeded! After high school, I went to college at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where I studied Sociology. It was during this time that I began to consider vocational ministry as a career path. The experience of simultaneously growing in my faith and studying Sociology gave me a deep interest in the relationship between Christianity and the social world. I became fascinated by how the Gospel informed and remedied the issues in society. This interest led me to the Justice and Mission program at Denver Seminary, which is how I ended up in Colorado. I am still a student at DenSem, working on a Master of Divinity with a Justice and Mission concentration. When I’m not working and studying, I enjoy exploring Denver’s city life and trying to soak up as much of Colorado’s wilderness as I can.
