Window 4 :: Salvation for Israel

This window continues the plan for salvation that God began in Window 3. Each of these panels show individual ways in which God has saved his people throughout the history of Israel.

Panel 1 - Daniel in the Lion’s Den.

This panel depicts Daniel's night in the lion's den. God saves Daniel by shutting the mouths of the Lions. This is but one way that God is saving his people.

Panel 2 - The Torch of Gideon.

This panel depicts a torch, which represents Judge Gideon. In the story of Gideon, the Israelites had raised a large army to fight the Philistines. However, God instructed Gideon to disband most of the army and instead terrify the Philistines by night with torches. This panel represents another aspect of God's salvific plan for his people. Just like with Gideon, God's plan is different from what we expect.

Panel 3 - Jonah’s Whale (Red Fish Figure)

Jonah received a mission from God to go and preach salvation to the people of Nineveh. Jonah rejected this and had to be taken to Nineveh by whale. It demonstrates that God is willing to go to any length to save us.

Panel 5 - Samson

This panel depicts Samson at the end of his life while he is destroying the palace of the Philistines. This act came after Samson's disobedience, yet Samson still accomplished God's plan. This panel communicates that God's plan for salvation will come at the cost of a life but that the Savior will still win.

Panel 7 - The Wheat of Life

This panel depicts wheat. Wheat represents an early stage of bread, which alludes to the Bread of Life. The bread of Communion is the ultimate plan of salvation. Through the coming Christ, all would be saved.
