Two Services Update

Hi Wellspring! Click play below to watch an update video from Billy about our decision to move to two outdoor services.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

If you haven’t already heard, the vote to ratify the purchase of 3885 S. Broadway was overwhelmingly in the majority.  The last step of this 3 ½ year journey is to sign the closing documents.  The date is scheduled for September 4 which is next Friday.  Please continue to pray for a smooth transition.  My heart is filled with gratitude over the faith and love of this community.

At the annual meeting last week, I mentioned that we would be committing to one service while outside and then hopefully move to two services once we go inside.  Earlier this week, we were notified by the city of a recent change in regulations for outdoor in-person worship services.  They have asked us to not gather more than 175 people at one time.  I have personally spoken with the city attorney and others on the city staff, and I have decided to honor their request for our outdoor services in the coming weeks.  Therefore we will have two services this Sunday at 9 and 10:30.  You can register at wellspringenglewood.com/church.  If you haven’t been baptized yet and you want to, it isn’t too late.   Just email us at info@wellspringenglewood.com.  Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

As we look at ministry opportunities at our new location, personally, I couldn’t be more thrilled about this next season.  AND, I am mixed with lament concerning the events in Kenosha, Wisconsin, AND frustrations with the Pandemic.  As believers in Jesus, we can experience feelings of: excitement AND frustration AND sadness AND lament AND joy all at the same time. In the gospel all of these are held together.  In midst of our exciting move AND the events in our world, my exhortation for all of us as a church is from Hebrews 10:24-25 ‘Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another -- all the more as we see the Day approaching.’  Let us encourage one another.  As we may have these jumbled emotions, that let’s use our words to encourage one another to grow closer to Jesus and more courageous in Mission.

I can’t wait to see you this Sunday at 9 or 10:30 and at our new location -- 3885 S. Broadway.
