Welcome to Wellspring Church!
How do we forgive when the hurt is real and what we’ve lost can’t be returned? In this message, Pastor Billy Waters explores the forgiveness of sins and how receiving the grace of Jesus empowers us to extend forgiveness to others.
Through Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant, we discover that forgiven people are called to forgive. Christ has canceled our unpayable debt through the cross, giving us the grace to release the debts we hold against others. Forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing wrongdoing, restoring trust immediately, or guaranteeing reconciliation. It means releasing our claim to repayment and trusting God with justice.
📖 Key Themes in This Message:
🔹 Finding the motivation to forgive in the forgiveness we’ve received through Jesus
🔹 Naming the person, the hurt, and what has been taken from us
🔹 Canceling the debt with Christ’s help and continuing to choose forgiveness
🔹 Trusting the risen Jesus to bring healing and restore all things
Forgiveness is a decision we may need to renew again and again. Jesus meets us in our wounds and gives us hope beyond what this world can restore. As we receive His mercy, we are invited to confess our sins, seek forgiveness, and extend that same grace to those who have hurt us.
