Deuteronomy—Listen and Love :: 9/21/25 :: Katie Gayle

Today, Pastor Katie Gayle is beginning a brand-new sermon series called Listen and Love.

This series takes us through the book of Deuteronomy, where Moses speaks to the second generation of Israel, standing on the edge of the promised land. He calls them to do what their parents had failed to do: to truly listen to God and to love Him wholeheartedly.

📖 Key Themes in This Message:

🔹 God is a speaking God, and His people are meant to be a listening people

🔹 Listening to God means not just hearing, but obeying—responding in love with heart, soul, mind, and strength

🔹 The central call of Deuteronomy: “Hear, O Israel… Love the Lord your God” (Deut. 6:4–6)

🔹 Jesus echoes this same call, reminding us that His sheep know His voice and follow Him (John 10)

Katie reminded us that just as Israel was invited into life and freedom by listening to God at the border of the promised land, so too are we invited into abundant life when we open our ears and hearts to Him .

Faith begins with listening, but it grows as we respond in love.
