Deuteronomy—Listen and Love :: 9/28/25 :: Billy Waters
Welcome to Wellspring Church!
What heals the world? Pastor Billy Waters led us into Deuteronomy 6 with this question, reminding us that true healing doesn’t come from political programs, policies, or human achievement—it comes from God’s kingdom. When heaven meets earth through Jesus’ reign, all that is broken will be restored.
In this message, we were called to consider our role as God’s covenant people. Israel didn’t conquer the nations with armies or influence, but by living as a people who listen to God and love Him wholeheartedly. That same call is ours today: listening and loving are inseparable. Love comes first, and from love flows obedience.
📖 Key Themes in This Message:
🔹 God’s kingdom, not worldly power, is what brings healing to the world
🔹 Listening and loving are our greatest contribution as God’s people
🔹 Obedience flows out of love, not performance or striving
🔹 The danger of distractions—like affluence, comfort, and noise—that choke out God’s word
🔹 Reframing the series: not “Listen and Love,” but “Love and Listen”
The gospel is not about earning God’s approval through obedience. Instead, it proclaims that God loved us first—and in that love, we respond with obedience that reveals His presence to the world.
